Shaoguang Wang is a professor of School of Public Policy and Management as well as Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University, an emeritus chair professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He got his LLB degree at Peking University and PhD degree at Cornell University. He taught at Dijiao High School in Wuhan from 1972-1977, Yale University from 1990 to 2000, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1999 to 2017. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 books and more than 100 journal articles in Chinese and English. His research interests include the history of democracy, comparative governance, comparative political economy, fiscal politics, and welfare politics.
